Optimizing the Incorporated Amount of Chinese Milk Vetch (Astragalus sinicus L.) to Improve Rice Productivity without Increasing CH4 and N2O Emissions

چکیده
Chinese milk vetch (CMV) is a leguminous green manure that commonly cultivated in paddy fields and can partially substitute synthetic nitrogen fertilizer. However, the impacts of incorporating CMV on CH4 N2O emissions are still subject controversy. Therefore, we conducted field experiment over three years to investigate under different substitution ratios: urea only (CF); traditional amount (MV); with incorporation ratios 1/3 (MV1/3), 2/3 (MV2/3), 4/3 (MV4/3) MV for partial substitution. Compared CF, MV2/3, MV, resulted increased yields. MV4/3 reduced but by 28.61% 85.60% (2019), 32.38% 103.19% (2020), 28.86% 102.98% (2021), respectively, resulting an overall increase total global warming potential (except 2021). MV2/3 exhibited low greenhouse gas intensity value ranging from 0.46 0.47. Partial least-squares-path model results showed were influenced ratios, which indirectly regulated gene abundances mcrA nosZ. Overall, impact was determined ratios. involved N fertilizer 15.0 t ha−1 CMV, improved rice productivity without increasing emissions, making it recommended approach study area.

Effects of Winter Cover Crops Straws Incorporation on CH4 and N2O Emission from Double-Cropping Paddy Fields in Southern China
Residue management in cropping systems is believed to improve soil quality. However, the effects of residue management on methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from paddy field in Southern China have not been well researched. The emissions of CH4 and N2O were investigated in double cropping rice (Oryza sativa L.) systems with straw returning of different winter cover crops by using th...

متن کاملOptimizing grain yields reduces CH4 emissions from rice paddy fields.
Microbial production in anoxic wetland rice soils is a major source of atmospheric CH4 the most important non-CO2 greenhouse gas. Much higher CH4 emissions from well managed irrigated rice fields in the wet than in the dry season could not be explained by seasonal differences in temperature. We hypothesized that high CH4 emissions in the wet season are caused by low grain to biomass ratios. In ...
متن کاملMethane and nitrous oxide emissions from rice paddy fields
Recent field studies in rice paddy fields in Japan and China have shown that N2O is emitted to the atmosphere not only after the application of nitrogen fertilisers under flooded conditions but also in a period from the final drainage to submergence in the following rice-growing season through nitrification or denitrification. Those results clearly indicate that CH4 and N2O emissions in rice pa...
